Rudra's Upcoming Video and New Album

Singaporean metallers RUDRA have issued the following update:

"We are currently preparing for the shooting of our first professional music video for the upcoming 'yet-to-be-titled' album. This epic video will be for a track titled 'Hymns From The Blazing Chariot', directed by Jacen Tan.

"We are working with Hosaywood & Apsara Asia Pte Ltd. It will be filmed over a period of two months, using some cool 'green-screen' effects. The concept is based on the ancient battle of Kurukshetra, focusing on the dialogue between two warriors, Arjuna and Krishna. The first shoot will take place this weekend and all of us are looking forward to it."

RUDRA's forthcoming album is the second instalment to the 'Brahmavidya'trilogy. Joshua and Sean of Black Isle Studios mixed the CD, which was mastered by Alan Douches (who has worked on NILEMASTODON andSEPULTURA albums). An early 2009 release via Trinity Records is expected.

RUDRA last year inked a six-album deal with Hong Kong's Trinity Records. The group's first release for the label was a reissue of their fourth album,"Brahmavidya: Primordial I" (the first part of a triology), which originally came out in 2005.

RUDRA in 2006 severed ties with Demonzend Records (a.k.a. Demonzend Enterprise), the label that originally issued the group's last album,"Brahmavidya: Primordial I", and re-released their debut CD.

Darkest Hour new album updates..

Washington D.C. metallers DARKEST HOUR are about to enter Baltimore, Maryland's Salad Days Studio with producer Brian McTernan to begin recording their new album for a spring 2009 release via Victory Records. Things have come full circle for the band, which recorded its 2000 seminal debut "Mark Of The Judas" with McTernan.

Commented guitarist Mike Schleibaum: "DARKEST HOUR is hard at work now writing and recording demos that will soon birth our follow up to'Deliver Us'. The DARKEST HOUR sound is evolving once again — it will have all the melody, guitar wizardry, and overall epicness that one has come to expect form a great DARKEST HOUR record but this time that sound will be married with something much darker and sinister.

"We are taking extra time to craft every song and make sure each one is a balls the walls jammer! McTernan is pushing us extra hard to ensure that when these songs make it to you ears they start bleeding!

"We live in dark times and the world needs a soundtrack for them."

DARKEST HOUR will take a break from working on the next album to play a few select dates later this month. Joining the band on the outing will be THE RED CHORDTHROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEADSKELETONWITCH andROSE FUNERAL.

The details are as follows:

Dec. 18 - Wilmington, NC - The Soapbox (no THE RED CHORD)
Dec. 19 - Philadelphia, PA - The Church
Dec. 20 - Pompton Lakes, NJ - Mainstage
Dec. 21 - Washington, D.C. - 9:30 Club

Regarding the band's collaboration with producer Brian McTernanMike Schleibaum previously said, "We are excited to work with Brian again. He has been a longtime friend and supporter of the band ever since its very first shows in 1995. When we recorded 'Mark of the Judas' with him in 2000, it helped solidify our sound and define us as a band. Eight years later, it's time to do it again. With all the scars of our past to guide us, we look towards a new future."

Look for a DARKEST HOUR European headlining tour in January.

DARKEST HOUR recently parted ways with guitarist Kris Norris and replaced him with Houston's Mike "Lonestar" Carrigan, who filled in forKris during the Thrash and Burn tour.

DARKEST HOUR's latest album, "Deliver Us", was released in July 2007 viaVictory Records. The follow-up to 2005's "Undoing Ruin" was recorded at the Warehouse in Vancouver, Canada.

Deathstars has a new song called "Death Dies Hard"

Swedish industrial goth metal band DEATHSTARS has posted a new song called "Death Dies Hard" on its MySpace page. The track comes off the group's third album, "Night Electric Night", which will be released on January 30, 2009 via Nuclear Blast Records. The CD, which was mixed atToytown studios in Stockholm, Sweden with Stefan Glaumann, will be released in a deluxe package called "Gold Edition" featuring bonus tracks as well as a bonus DVD featuring six video clips, "making-of" footage and more. The "Gold Edition" will be released as a digibook with new cover artwork (see below).

Commented guitarist, songwriter and producer Emil "Nightmare Industries" Nödtveidt: "This album is the very mirror of our last years and our struggle through this time up until now. It deals with a whole spectrum of emotions, but without losing that straightforward nerve of raw dark feverish rock music a la DEATHSTARS. Even though the songs vary more now, from the ripping 'Night Electric Night' to the seriousness in 'Via the End', which I wrote the very night I found out about my brother's suicide [Emil's brother was DISSECTION frontman Jon Nödtveidt — Ed.], it holds an honest consequence right through the album."

According to a press release, "Night Electric Night" is about DEATHSTARS' "lives and their experiences, their personal issues and the action/horror drama which represents the manic environment that the band exists within. It deals a lot with reflections of situations right then and there."

GUNS N' ROSES' new album, "Chinese Democracy" Updates

GUNS N' ROSES' new album, "Chinese Democracy", has registered the following first-week chart positions so far (Note: The album wasn't available a full week in most of these territories when the charts were compiled):

Finland: #1
Ireland: #3
Netherlands: #4
Sweden: #4

Early U.S. sales reports suggest that "Chinese Democracy", which was released through an exclusive deal with the Best Buy chain, might not be the blockbuster the industry had hoped for, according to The New York Times. Sales figures will not be available until next week, but early estimates put the first-week total at 300,000 copies (including a reported 25,000 downloads at iTunes on November 23 not counted towards the opening week for the Sunday release) — roughly 50,000 more than the opening number registered by "Contraband", the 2004 debut from VELVET REVOLVER, which features in its ranks Rose's former GUNS N' ROSESbandmates SlashDuff McKagan and Matt SorumKANYE WEST's new album, "808s and Heartbreak", will be No. 1 on next week's Billboard chart with a total that looks to be between 450,000 and 500,000.

Noah Martin of Arsis Quits!!!

Noah Martin has issued the following statement in regards to stepping down from his bass-playing duties in ARSIS:

"Well, I don't know where to start. When you're in a band, you're nothing but at the will of the group you're in. At some point, after lots of nights laying awake in a bunk after a show in the middle of the country, you really start to wonder where your life is headed. I know there's a big difference between what's smart and what you really want to do. I really need to do the smart thing and finish college, though I'd also like to do what I love, and continue playing with ARSIS. Unfortunately, I can't do them both. Thus, I've decided to leave the band.

I've had such a phenomenal time with Jim [Malone], Ryan [Knight] , and Shawn [Priest], as we'll always be friends. I'll miss working with Gerardo, Loana, and bugging Mike at Nuclear Blast, who've made working with them the most enjoyable experience. Thanks to anyone and everyone we've ever worked with, including the bands with which we've toured.

I would like to personally thank all ours friends and fans, since you've always been one in the same in my eyes. Leaving something you love is the most difficult thing to do, though leaving it doesn't mean you'll never come back to it. I most likely will - after I finish school. If I wind up pursuing something else in the meantime, I'll probably do so, but that's another story.

My last two shows with ARSIS will be September 26th in Indianapolis, Indiana and September 27th in Covington, Kentucky. Cheers and good times, good times.”

Mark Hoppus sued a father-and-son business

SAN DIEGO - Former Blink-182 bassist Mark Hoppus sued a father-and-son business Monday, alleging they pocketed his investment in a venture to install automated checkout machines at McDonald's restaurants.

The lawsuit in San Diego Superior Court says Ed and Jeff Mitchell lined their pockets "to the tune of over $1.5 million." It alleges their company — Missicom LLC of San Diego — does not have any contracts to install the machines to take orders and collect payments at McDonald's or anywhere else.

Hoppus, currently a member of the pop-punk band Plus-44, invested $600,000 in Missicom in October 2003, according to the complaint.

The lawsuit says the Mitchells raised nearly $3.4 million and solicited millions of dollars from "prominent, well-known figures."

New Led Zeppelin Fan Irritates Friends..

Imagine a Led Zep fanboy persistently irritates you with his love for Lez Zep... when you're trying to check out the new Slipknot's album... ahahha... here's a report on it... wat a fag.. .ahaha..

"Last Saturday night, a bunch of us were driving around cranking the new Slipknot when Mark popped the tape out and started messing with the radio," said Rick Eglund, 17. "I was like, 'Dude, what's your problem?' He said it was time for WLUP's 'Get The Led Out' and that he never missed it. I told him he was gonna miss it that night. Then, he tried to stop me from putting the tape back into my own stereo. I had to pull over and force him to switch seats with Dan [Alberman]."

Malaysia : Auburn

They one of the local Malaysian bands that i really respect.. they have got a really down to earth guitarist/vocalist.. music-wise , progressive rock?? what i like is that , they sound something like A Perfect Circle + Indie + Rock.. they just sounds good... go get their 'mini album' - Karya now!!

Established in 2005, the band released a debut mini-album, Karya, with various indie and major compilation appearances slotted in between demonstrating their unique love and nuance for the classic alternative sound. They patiently wait out 2008 to make way for the birth of their bilingual full-length debut, The Altruist/Si Altruis, a record that hopes to realise a seven-year-long vision of their dreamy, progressive, dramatic alternative rock.

Check them out here!!!

From Autumn to Ashes , Light This City , Himsa - Breaks upafter a long journey in music... RIP!!!

3 of the most influential bands of their own genres , calls it quits.. what a shame that everything that they have done so far has ended.. due to the hectic life of endless touring , the boredom of doing the same damn thing over and over again every single night , being sick of having no cash and time and at the same time having to live with a passion without the initial burning flame...

From Autumn to Ashes have decided to call it a day. Below is a quite from vocalist Francis Mark.

"At this point I feel that we have accomplished everything we could
have hoped for with FATA. It doesn't feel much like a break up. Just
feels like the end. It's complete. I would say that we are going on
indefinite hiatus because the term breakup suggests a more negative
circumstance.

"There have been no quarrels between band members. It is also not a
question of fan support because we are lucky to have some of the most
loyal and impassioned friends a band could ask for. I've dedicated
almost 9 years to FATA and it's become something of a security for me.
I'm looking forward to feeling uncertain and the freedom of starting a
new band that has no definition."

--------------

After canceling their scheduled tours last week, Light This City has
officially called it quits. Drummer Ben Murray has issued the following
statement:

"I know this is extremely unexpected and disappointing to a lot you out
there, but Laura [Nichol] and I have decided to end the band recently
because of personal and practical reasons. While this may come as a
shock to many, I hope I can shed some light on the reasons behind the
decision.

"First and foremost, the touring lifestyle and playing on stage every
night, as well as making this band our entire lives and our profession
had over time become stale and anxiety-ridden for both of us, and in
the end, not enjoyable anymore. We started this band because we loved
playing this kind of music and loved the release that we got out of it...... more here..

--------------------------

Himsa bassist Derek Harn has posted the following message:

"After 10+ years, four releases, countless tours and almost
incomprehensible (yet constant) upheaval, the last three years of the
band have been relatively stable. Having sacrificed everything we had
in order to ensure the band's survival it's time to let it go. We made
a great CD ('Summon in Thunder', Century Media); reportedly, our best.
We've got a great label. We're getting along, we've toured and we’re
fine. It's all good. We're leaving it at that..... more here..

Upcoming Albums - Aborted , Unearth , Soulfly , Slipknot , Crytopsy

Unearth is currently recording at MA’s System Recording Studios with producer Adam Dutkiewicz, while the album’s drum tracks are being laid to tape by drummer Derek Kerswill (Kingdom of Sorrow, Seemless) at Zing Studios. The as-yet-untitled record is said to feature the band’s “most dynamic material to date,” combining strong tension and release, abundant guitar solos and a bulldozing power-groove.

“HEAVY METAL SHRED MAYHEM! NOW WITH 50% MORE GUITAR SOLOS!! If the new Unearth songs were laundry detergent, then this is what it would say on the box,” dishes Unearth lead guitarist Buz McGrath. “Fortunately for all you metal maniacs, it's not laundry soap, but a mind-blowing journey consisting of epic mosh and shred, so we had to call in the one man who could wrangle such a massive beast - Adam Dutkiewicz. We are very excited to be working with him again and between 40 oz. chugging and doing burn-outs in Ken's '82 Corvette, we are recording what will definitely be the best album of our career.”

- This is very very interesting.... can't wait for it..

-----------------

European death metal butchers, Aborted, is set for a June 24th release for their sixth full-length, 'Strychnine.213', just as the band embarks on this year’s Summer Slaughter tour. fans can stream 'Strychnine.213' in its entirety on the group’s official MySpace page.

-----------------

An audio sample of the new Soulfly single "Unleash" is available at Amazon.com. The track, which will be released digitally on June 24, comes off the group's new album, "Conquer", which is due on July 29 via Roadrunner Records.

-----------------

An audio sample of the new Slipknot single "All Hope Is Gone" is available at Amazon.com. The track, which will be released digitally on June 20, comes off the group's long-awaited new album, which is due on August 26 via Roadrunner Records. Other working songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Moth", "Chapter One", "The Eleventh March", "Dirge", "Dead Memories", "Vendetta" and "Psycho Social".

-----------------

Crytopsy will be releasing 'The Unspoken King' which could quite possibly also be their most brutal, yet dynamic offering. The much anticipated new effort is set for a June 24th release.

Here's a video of their Worship Your Demons done by acclaimed director David Brodsky (GWAR, Soilent Green). Enjoy this 2 minutes of audio brutality....

Busta Rhymes ft. Linkin Park - We Made It

I don't see a point in this collaboration.. they should have just put both the vocalists name instead of Linkin Park.. i don't think i saw the drummer there... and the guitarist is missing too.. the only part of the song that i can hear the guitar properly is at the ending.. which sounds like the intro for one of Linkin Park's song.. i forgot which one...

this song - sucks ....

All Ends - Still Believe

great band with 2 female vocals.. not growling .. no screaming.. just nice strong female vocals.. with the backing of rock solid hardrockish guitars and drums...songwriting was done mainly by Björn Gelotte of In Flames fame... it should be good... not so sure if their album is out already or not.. if it's not out yet... its coming soon...

here's something from wikipedia about them..

"alternative metal band from Gothenburg, Sweden, founded in 2003. It started as a side project of the In Flames guitarists Björn Gelotte and Jesper Strömblad, but currently they are no longer playing with All Ends.

With the initial line-up of Jesper Strömblad and Björn Gelotte handling guitars, Emma Gelotte and Tinna Karlsdotter doing vocals, and Joseph Skansås playing drums, they recorded a 5-song demo. The demo was recorded at Studio Fredman and produced by Fredrik Nordström and Patrick J. Sten.

In the spring of 2005, Michael HĂĄkansson took over bass duties and Fredrik Johansson took over guitar duties. In August of 2005, Peter MĂĄrdklint joined the band as the second guitarist.

The most notable feature of All Ends is the duet vocals provided by the two female singers in the band, Emma Gelotte and Tinna Karlsdotter, against a background of heavy melodies.

All Ends signed a worldwide contract with Gun Records, a division of Sony BMG Music Entertainment. On May 11, 2007, they released their debut EP, Wasting Life.

Here's a videoclip of their Still Believe song...

Toronto's CANCER BATS will release its much-anticipated sophomore full-length album, "Hail Destroyer", on June 24 via Black Market Activities. AMBERIAN DAWN will have its debut album, "River of Tuoni", released in European territories outside of Finland on June 16 via Ascendance Records

DESTRUCTION entered Hansen Studios in Ribe, Denmark on April 21 with producer Jacob Hansen to begin recording its new album, "D.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N." An August 29 European release is expected.

PAPA ROACH recently changed the working title of its next album, which was originally called "Days of War, Nights of Love". The new title for the band's fifth major label CD is "Metamorphosis". "Metamorphosis" is expected out in late August or early September. The band has yet to decide on an exact release date or first single.

Dutch female-fronted metal band MORNING will release its sophomore album, "Moments of Truth", in September.

Swedish technical death metallers SOREPTION have completed the songwriting process for their full-length debut. The band is scheduled to enter the studio in August to begin recording the effort for a late 2008/early 2009 release.

ALL ENDS — the Swedish hard rock band featuring Emma Gelotte (sister of IN FLAMES guitarist Björn Gelotte) and Tinna Karlsdotter on vocals, Fredrik Johansson (DIMENSION ZERO, IN FLAMES' "The Jester Race" album) and Peter MĂĄrdklint (EMBRACED, TENEBRE) on guitar, along with Josef SkanĂĄs on drums — will be released in the UK on July 21 via Legacy/Sony BMG."Pretty Words", the new video from ALL ENDS can be viewed below. Norma Jean , Six Feet Under , It Dies Today ... new albums from them soon..

Norma Jean are in the middle of recording their fourth album, The Anti Mother, with producer Ross Robinson (Glassjaw, At the Drive-In) behind the boards. Slated for release later this summer, the band apparently collaborated on material separately with Helmet's Page Hamilton and Chino Moreno of Deftones.

deceptive, and yet possesses an outwardly beautiful nature." ...

Six Feet Under have begun recording new material for
their forthcoming Metal Blade Records set. According to the band, "It's
great to be back in the studio, and we feel really psyched to lay these
new songs down. They are some of the best stuff we have come up with,
and [we] can't wait for all of our fans to hear the new stuff." ... The
JonBenét have been touring the U.S., road-testing some new
material, which they plan to record later this year. The band will be
rolling through Anthony, Texas, Friday night (May 16), and dates are
booked through June 14 in Austin, Texas. ...

It Dies Today have set Lividity as the title of
their next album, which they'll be self-producing for a fall release.
... On August 19, the Acacia Strain will release their forthcoming
album, Continent. The disc is being produced by Zeuss, who has worked with the likes of Hatebreed and Shadows Fall.

Upcoming new albums!!! From Metallica , Lacuna Coil , to Disturbed

METALLICA has tapped Greg Fidelman — an engineer/producer who has worked with current METALLICA producer Rick Rubin on albums for the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, SYSTEM OF A DOWN, SLIPKNOT and AUDIOSLAVE, among others — to mix its much-anticipated new album, due out in September.

LACUNA COIL is currently working on its highly anticipated new album, the follow-up to 2006's "Karmacode", but will take a short break in June to play some headlining shows in Australia.

Knoxville, Tennessee-based death/grind metallers WHITECHAPEL will release their second album, "This Is Exile", in Europe on July 14 via Metal Blade Records (July 11 in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy). The CD was tracked by Jonny Fay (ex-guitarist of THE RED CHORD) of Backyard Studios in New Hampshire and was mixed by Zeuss, who has produced ION DISSONANCE, EMMURE, BLOOD HAS BEEN SHED, SHADOWS FALL and HATEBREED, among others.

IN THIS MOMENT will enter a Las Vegas studio on June 1 with producer Kevin Churko (OZZY OSBOURNE's "Black Rain") to begin recording its sophomore album, tentatively due late 2008 via Century Media Records. Among the tracks set to appear on the CD is "Forever", which the band recently recorded with Churko at the helm. The recordings sessions for the new album are expected to be completed by July 1.

SOULFLY has hired Robert Sexton (MONDO GENERATOR, AMEN, ICED EARTH) to direct the video for the song "Unleash" — the first single off the group's forthcoming album, "Conquer"."Conquer" is scheduled for release on July 29 via Roadrunner Records. The first single from the album, "Inside The Fire", has been Number One at Active Rock radio for three weeks and counting, and marks the band's sixth Number One track and its fastest-rising chart-topper to date.

FIREBIRD, the British band led by former CARCASS/NAPALM DEATH guitarist Bill Steer, will enter Berno studios in Malmö, Sweden on May 19 to begin recording their new album for a late 2008 release via Rise Above Records. Slipknot "our new album will rip your face off'

Slipknot are currently on a two week "studio lock-down" putting the
finishing touches to their as-yet-untitled fourth album which is set
for release in September.

According to frontman Corey Taylor, the follow-up to 2004's Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses) is "going to rip your face off."

"I don't think the world will be ready for this album," Taylor told
US mag Billboard. "It's a cross between Vol. 3 and [2001's] Iowa. It
has so much power in it and yet there are so many great spots for
melody. It's a controlled chaos that hits you right out of the gate."

When asked about the album's lyrical content, Taylor said:

"Instead of bitching about what went wrong in my life, I'm bitching about what's wrong in life, PERIOD."

Taylor also says the album will have more melodic vocals:

"I got to the point where I was tired of pretending that I couldn't
sing every time I made a Slipknot album," he said. "So this time I'm
going all out."

But melodic vocals doesn't mean that this record will be any less
menacing. Taylor refused to go into specifics, but he did say that the
record is "very dark and will fit in everything image-wise that we're
making with this album."
